Bio
Yasi Ghanbari (she/they) is an Iranian-American artist working in video, performance, and installation. Her work has been exhibited at Museum of the Moving Image, Anthology Film Archives, The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, NARS Foundation, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; as well as at Virginia Commonwealth University; Heaven Gallery; University of Massachusetts Amherst; BRIC; Fastnet; Essex Flowers; Adds Donna; Julius Caesar; and the Centre for Contemporary Arts Glasgow.
She has participated in residencies and studio programs including Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program, The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, BRIC, and ACRE. She has taught at Pratt Institute, Oberlin College, and Parsons School of Design, and currently serves as the Assistant Chair of the Foundation department at Pratt Institute.
She earned a BA in Cinema Studies from Oberlin College and an MFA in Film, Video, and New Media from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
